These images were captured with a camera donated to me by my beloved Great Auntie. Her broken old Kodak Retinette with no rangefinder.
Cross-processing (developing slide film in negative film chemicals) and the inherent lack of accuracy from having no accurate viewfinder can give wonderfully unpredictable results, making the photos appear more like paintings than photographs.
The photos were taken close to were I grew up i Bristol. The connection of using the camera that belonged to my dear Auntie – who is an inspiration to me – and the dreamy results are a very suitable representation of the area for me.
